This page explains what data Recall Explained processes and why, including when you use the on-page AI assistant.

What we collect

  • Standard web/server data needed to operate the site (for example: timestamps and basic request metadata).
  • If you use the AI assistant, we process the message you type and the page context needed to answer it (make, model, and the year/summary stats shown on the page).
  • We may store AI assistant conversations for debugging and quality improvements (for example: your message, the assistant reply, and error codes if something fails).
  • Please do not include sensitive personal information in assistant messages.

How we use this information

  • To provide the site features you request (for example: answering questions about recalls and complaint patterns).
  • To troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
  • To understand how the site is used at a high level (for example: which pages the assistant is used on), without trying to identify you personally.

Third-party processing

  • When you use the AI assistant, your message and relevant page context are sent to an AI model provider to generate a reply.
  • The site is hosted and delivered via infrastructure providers (for example: hosting, CDN, and logging).

Retention

  • We keep logs only for as long as needed to operate the service, diagnose issues, and improve quality.
  • We may delete or aggregate older logs over time.

Your choices

  • You can use the site without using the AI assistant.
  • If you do use the assistant, avoid entering personal or sensitive information.
